Currently it seems not to be possible to build page sources based on SOAP- or REST-webservices.
Any plans to add this feature before final release comes or in a service pack?

You are right. We will add support for REST web services in one of the subsequent releases.

Will you also consider SOAP web services? Many already existing services for extracting corporate data are based on SOAP web services. It would save a lot of effort and speed up development to use these services also for mobile presentation.

Well, definitely. It is just so - SOAP web services are a lot more complicated to implement and support, which was precisely the reason for the web community to introduce REST web services. What I want to say - it is difficult to predict when we can get them done.
You have to understand one thing though: MobileTogether natively supports Altova FlowForce, which by itself is tightly bound to Altova MapForce. If you are only interested in loading and displaying foreign data from different locations or formats - you can always use Altova MapForce to retrieve and/or convert data for MobileTogether on the fly. MapForce supports natively in a great detail SOAP web services, along with reading formats like CSV, structural flat files, EDI, Excel, XBRL, etc, etc. I hope this helps!
