I'm new to MobileTogether and app development. After a bad two years with an Alpha Software developer, I've decided to rebuild an Alpha Software app in another platform myself. After testing a dozen or more app builders, I've decided on the MobileTogether builder to do it, but as you can imagine, I'm running into some issues due to my lack of experience.

I have limited experience with programming, and less with databases, but I understand most of the programming process. I've found MobileTogether to be very intuitive from the form and styling aspect, and XPath/XQuery make a lot of sense inherently. I have my form structures laid out in MobileTogether, but I'm running into a problem getting a database, any database, connected to MobileTogether.

I currently have a database and tables built in XAMPP. I also have my own VPS, *or* a shared hosting Linux account, *or* an Amazon Web Services database I can connect to. The only one I've built the tables in so far is my local XAMPP account. Because I'm not experienced with building databases, only the organizational structure and relations, I don't know that I have everything setup completely to connect.

What I would like would be someone I can work with directly, and pay hourly, to help me solve issues as I run into them. I don't really want someone to build the app for me since I've had a couple really bad experiences with developers and I'd like to learn the process so I can support the app myself.

I apologize if this isn't the right place to look for a tutor, but I haven't had any luck finding one elsewhere.

Update

I've made some progress after deciding to use SQLite in the app initially. I rebuilt my database already in a SQLite editor, and connected it to MobileTogether. At some point, I'll need to have SQLite sync with a hosted database to merge data from several users into one database. For now, getting this connection up is allowing me to make some headway, but I still need some help.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I didn't see that on the site, and the sales department person I spoke to didn't know of any options for direct support at a price.

It doesn't look like the product consulting provides the level of support I need. I'm asking once again if there are any experienced MobileTogether developers who would be interested in a tutoring arrangement?

Brandon,

I still believe that product consulting is exactly what you were looking for. Let us discuss internally - there seemed to be some misunderstanding between you and us. We will come back to you ASAP
