Hi,

we update MT Server from 3.0 to 4.1.

Our app works fine on 3.0, but on 4.1 we get an UTF8 error on each HTTP request.

I tested a small new project with a simple request to www.google.de.

same error:
anexpected answer from www.google.de
Error: file '' has no valid utf8 code

i believe it is an design crime on my own, but...

the http requests are sitesource, cause i need to query them

File Attachment(s):
httperror.mtd (5kb) downloaded 38 time(s).

Hi!

www.google.de mentions charset UTF8 but in reality seems to return windows-1252 encoded results.
If you test e.g. with "www.altova.com", everything works fine.

i need request a management system which not utf-8 encoded.

is it possible in 4.1 to remove the utf-8 restriction?

Hi!

Currently there is no possibility to remove the restriction.
Do we have access to that management system or can you send us a response sample please?

Hi,

This is a serious issue. There are several sites that I get the same UTF-8 error response from MobileTogether server. Something needs to be done.

Here is one example: http://budjetti.vm.fi/in....xml&opennode=0:1:5:
(Finland, Ministry of finance)

I tested with both HTTP and HTML component and I got the same error. Everything is working fine with the designer but trough server becomes errors. So there must be some kind of difference between designer and server core code. I can run my app in desiger and it works fine but trough server I got errors. Same errors came with generated app with android studio.

You have some kind of reason to require strict UTF-8 response so you could build up UTF-8 converter/filter before handling response from non-UTF-8-site. This would be required with HTTP and HTML components.

By the way do you have same build with server and designer code?

Kind regards,

Pekka Pasanen

Hi Pekka!

Which server version are you using?
I just tried with 4.1sp1 and it works without any problem.

If I change the url for example to: https://www.palloliitto....luarkisto/kentta&614 everything works fine.

Hi Pekka!

From when is your server executable?
How did you verify, that your are using 4.1sp1?

Opposite to your first link, the last one sends UTF-8 encoded characters and also would have worked in 4.1, so we are not quite sure if you have the fix as applied in the service pack.

Hi,

Sorry I didn't have sp1 installed, that fixed the UTF-8 Error. Could there be an easier way to do sp updates?

Thanks, Pekka Pasanen

Hi Pekka!

Welcome!

What do you mean with easier updates?

In case you have specified the Alert Mail settings, you should have been informed about a new version per email.
Additionally, this information is visible in the LicenseServer console.
But we cannot know if and when you would like to install it.
