I have just been asked to sort displays by user on persistent data (xml). I have done this with SQL server databases as they can have a select statement attached to the source but I cannot find the equivalent for persistent and local XML. I just need to limit the display by the users ID eg select * from table where id = userid

Do you need to limit display or sort it? These are two different things.

The easiest is to use XPath in the Visible property for Table Row Group
